705 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd informed us, saying: Muhammad ibn Bashshār, known as Bundār, narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Jaʿfar, known as Ghundar, narrated to us, saying: Shuʿba narrated to us, from Abū Ishāq, from al-Agharr, who said: I bear witness concerning Abū Hurayra and Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī that they both bore witness concerning the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: “Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, waits until one-third of the night has passed, then says: ‘Is there anyone asking? Is there anyone repenting? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness for a sin?’” He said: A man asked him, “Until dawn breaks?” He replied, “Yes.”
