699 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd informed us, saying: Abū al-Tāhir Ahmad ibn ⦗1130⦘ ʿAmr al-Misrī narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd Allah ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Mālik ibn Anas informed me, from Ibn Shihāb, from Abū ʿAbd Allah al-Agharr and from Abū Salama ibn ʿAbd al-Rahmān, from Abū Hurayra, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Our Lord, mighty and majestic is He, descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains and says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer him? Who will ask Me, that I may give him? And who will seek My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’”
