THE BOOK OF FAITH AND AFFIRMATION THAT ALLAH, GLORIOUS AND EXALTED, SPOKE TO MOSES, PEACE BE UPON HIM

Praise be to Allah, who is praised in every circumstance. May Allah bless Muhammad the Prophet and his family and grant them peace.

To proceed: Whoever claims to be a Muslim and then alleges that Allah, Glorious and Exalted, did not speak to Moses has committed disbelief. He must be called upon to repent; if he repents, so be it, but otherwise he is to be executed. If someone asks, “Why?” he is told: Because he has rejected and denied the Quran, rejected the sunnah, opposed all the scholars of the Muslims, strayed from the truth, and become one of those concerning whom Allah, Glorious and Exalted, said:

“Whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows a path other than that of the believers, We shall leave him to what he has chosen and consign him to Hell—what an evil destination!” [al-Nisāʾ: 115]

As for the proof against them from the Quran, Allah, Majestic and Mighty, said in Sūrat al-Nisāʾ:

“And Allah spoke directly to Moses.” [al-Nisāʾ: 164]

And He, Glorious and Exalted, said in Sūrat al-Aʿrāf:

“When Moses came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, ‘My Lord, show Yourself to me so that I may look upon You.’” [al-Aʿrāf
