661 — Abū Muslim Ibrāhīm ibn Abd Allah al-Kashshī informed us, saying: Alī ibn Abd Allah al-Madīnī narrated to us, saying: Jarīr ibn Abd al-Hamīd narrated to us, from al-Amash, from Tamīm ibn Salamah, from Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, who said: Aisha—may Allah be pleased with her—said ⦗1086⦘: “Praise be to Allah, whose hearing encompasses all voices. Khawlah was indeed complaining about her husband to the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—and at times some of what she said was inaudible to me. Then Allah—Mighty and Majestic is He—revealed: ‘Allah has certainly heard the words of the woman who disputes with you concerning her husband and complains to Allah’ [al-Mujādilah: 1]”—to the end of the verse.
