660 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd also narrated to us, saying: Yūsuf ibn Mūsā narrated to us, saying: Ubayd Allah ibn Mūsā narrated to us, saying: Sufyān informed us, from Hakīm ibn al-Daylam, ⦗1085⦘ from Abū Burdah, from Abū Mūsā, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—stood among us to deliver four statements. He said: “Indeed, Allah—Mighty and Majestic is He—does not sleep, nor does it befit Him to sleep. He lowers the scale and raises it. The deeds of the night are raised to Him before those of the day, and the deeds of the day before those of the night. His veil is light; were He to remove it, the splendors of His Face would burn everything His sight reaches.”
