632 — Al-Firyābī informed us, saying: Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mundhir al-Hizāmī narrated to me, saying: Ibn Abī Fudayk narrated to us, from ‘Abd al-Rahmān ibn Abī al-Zinād, from his father, from al-A‘raj, from Abū Hurayra, who said: Abū al-Qāsim—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “Allah—Glorified and Exalted—laughs at two men, one of whom kills the other, yet both enter Paradise. The first fights in the cause of Allah, is killed, and thus attains martyrdom. Allah—Glorified and Exalted—then accepts the other’s repentance; he embraces Islam, fights in the cause of Allah, is killed, and thus attains martyrdom.”
