The Hadith of the Tree of Tūbā
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said:
Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has mentioned in more than one passage of His Book, and through the words of His Messenger—peace and blessings be upon him—the honors He has prepared for the believers in Paradise. Among the ways He has honored them is His statement—Mighty and Majestic is He:
“Those who believe and perform righteous deeds—for them is Tūbā and an excellent homecoming” [Thunder 13:29].
The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—explained the Tree of Tūbā and some of the honors that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has prepared there for the believers. Among the honors He will bestow upon them is that they will visit their Lord—Mighty and Majestic is He—riding swift, noble mounts of ruby into which life has been breathed. They will visit Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and He will reveal Himself to them. He will look upon them, and they will look upon Him; He will speak to them, and they will speak to Him; He will greet them with peace and grant them yet more of His bounty.
I shall now relate it so that, through it, Allah Most High may gladden the eyes of the believers and cause the eyes of the heretics to weep. Allah alone grants success.
