623 — Al-Firyābī informed us, saying: Abū Bakr and Uthmān, the two sons of Abī Shayba, narrated to us, saying: Wakī narrated to us, from al-Amash, from Khaythama, from Adī ibn Hātim, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “There is no one among you but that his Lord, Most High, will speak to him on the Day of Resurrection, with no interpreter between him and Him. He will look to his right and see nothing but what he sent ahead; then he will look to his left and see nothing but what he sent ahead; and he will look before him, whereupon the Fire will confront him. So whoever among you is able to protect himself from the Fire, even with half a date, let him do so.”
٦٢٣ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ قَالَ: نا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , وَعُثْمَانُ , ابْنَا أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ , عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَا سَيُكَلِّمُهُ رَبُّهُ تَعَالَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ , لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ تُرْجُمَانٌ , فَيَنْظُرُ أَيْمَنَ مِنْهُ فَلَا يَرَى إِلَا شَيْئًا قَدَّمَهُ , ثُمَّ يَنْظُرُ أَشْأَمَ مِنْهُ فَلَا يَرَى إِلَا شَيْئًا قَدَّمَهُ , وَيَنْظُرُ أَمَامَهُ فَتَسْتَقْبِلُهُ النَّارُ , فَمَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَّقِيَ النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ فَلْيَفْعَلْ»
