615 — Abū al-Qāsim al-Baghawī, Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz, narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Abī al-Shawārib narrated to us, saying: Abū Asim, Abd Allah ibn ⦗1028⦘ Ubayd Allah al-Abbādānī, narrated to us, saying: al-Fadl al-Raqāshī narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jābir ibn Abd Allah, who said: The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—said:
“While the people of Paradise are immersed in bliss, a light suddenly appears to them. They raise their heads and behold, the Lord—glorified and exalted is He—is looking upon them from above. He says, ‘Peace be upon you, O people of Paradise.’ That is His saying—Mighty and Majestic is He: ‘Peace—a word from a Merciful Lord’ [Yā Sīn: 58].”
He continued:
“He looks at them, and they look at Him. So long as they are looking at Him, they pay no attention to any of the delights, until He veils Himself from them—glorified and exalted is He—while His light and blessing remain upon them and in their abodes.”
