612 โ Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ishฤq ibn Zฤtiyฤ narrated to us, saying: Abd โฆ1023โฆ al-Ala ibn Hammฤd al-Narsฤซ narrated to us, saying: Umar ibn Yลซnus narrated to us, saying: Jahdam ibn Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Abu Zabyah narrated to me, from Uthmฤn ibn Umayr, from Anas ibn Mฤlik, who said: The Messenger of Allahโmay Allah bless him and grant him peaceโsaid:
โGabrielโpeace be upon himโcame to me with a white mirror in the palm of his hand, bearing a black spot. I asked, โWhat is this, Gabriel?โ He replied, โThis is Friday, which your LordโMighty and Majestic is Heโpresents to you so that it may be a festival for you and for your community after you. You โฆ1024โฆ will be first, while the Jews and Christians will come after you.โ
โI asked, โWhat does it hold for us?โ He replied, โIt holds good for you. During it there is a time when anyone who supplicates AllahโMighty and Majestic is Heโfor some good apportioned to him will surely be granted it by Allah, Exalted is He. If it has not been apportioned to him, Allah will store up for him something greater than it. And anyone who seeks refuge during it from an evil decreed for him will surely be protected by Allah, Exalted is He, from something even greater.โ
โI asked, โWhat is this black spot upon it?โ He replied, โIt is the Hour, which will occur on Friday. Friday is the master of days for us, and in the Hereafter โฆ1025โฆ we call it the Day of Increase.โ
โI asked, โWhy do you call it the Day of Increase?โ He replied, โYour LordโMighty and Majestic is Heโhas made in Paradise a broad valley of white musk. When Friday comes, HeโGlorified and Exalted is Heโdescends from the highest heights onto His Seat. He then surrounds the Seat with pulpits of light, and the prophets come and sit upon them. He then surrounds the pulpits with chairs of gold, and the truthful and the martyrs come and sit upon them. The people of Paradise then come and sit upon the dune. Their LordโMighty and Majestic is Heโthen reveals Himself to them, and they gaze upon His FaceโMighty and Majestic is Heโas He says, โI am the One who fulfilled My promise to you and perfected My favor upon you. This is the place where I bestow My honor, so ask of Me.โ
โโThey ask Him for His pleasure, and He says, โMy pleasure admitted you into My abode and granted you My honor, so ask of Me by virtue of it.โ They continue asking Him until they have exhausted their desires. At that point, there will be opened to them โฆ1026โฆ that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and which has never occurred to any human heartโfor as long as it takes people to disperse after the Friday prayer.
โโHeโMighty and Majestic is Heโthen ascends upon His Seat, and the truthful and the martyrs ascend with Him. The inhabitants of the chambers return to their chambers, each fashioned from a white pearl containing neither fracture nor seam, a red ruby, or a green emerald. Within them are their fruits, spouses, and attendants. They long for nothing more than Friday, so that He may increase them in honor and they may gaze still more upon His FaceโMighty and Majestic is He. It is for this reason that it is called the Day of Increase.โโ Or as he said.
613 โ Al-Baghawฤซ, Abu al-Qฤsim Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azฤซz, also narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Ala ibn Hammฤd narrated to us, and he related this hadith in full, through to its end.

614 โ Abu Bakr ibn Abฤซ Dฤwลซd also narrated to us and cited therein more than one chain of transmission from Anas, from the Prophetโmay Allah bless him and grant him peaceโsimilar to what we have mentioned. Ibn Abฤซ Dฤwลซd told us: โAbu Zabyahโwhose name was Rajฤ ibn al-Hฤrithโwas trustworthy.โ He added: โUthmฤn ibn Umayr had the honorific name Abu al-Yaqzฤn.โ
