603 – Abū Jafar Muhammad ibn Sālih ibn Dharīh al-Ukbarī narrated to us, saying: Hannād ibn al-Sarī narrated to us, saying: Qabīsa ibn Uqba narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from Thābit al-Bunānī, from Abd al-Rahmān ibn Abī Laylā, from Suhayb, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—recited:
“For those who do good is the best reward—and more.” [Jonah: 26]
Then he said:
“When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire, a caller will proclaim: ‘O people of Paradise! You have an appointment with Allah that He intends to fulfill for you.’
“They will ask, ‘What is it? Has Allah, Mighty and Majestic, not made our scales heavy, brightened our faces, admitted us into Paradise, and brought us out of the Fire?’
“Then He, Mighty and Majestic, will lift the veil, and they will gaze upon Him.” He said, “By Allah, He will have given them nothing dearer to them than gazing upon Him—and that is the ‘more.’”
