Abū Jafar Muhammad ibn Sālih ibn Dharīh al-Ukbarī informed us; he said: Hannād ibn al-Sarī narrated to us; he said: Wakī narrated to us, from Isrāʾīl, from Abū Ishāq, from Āmir ibn Sad, from Abū Bakr al-Siddīq—may Allah be pleased with him—and from Abū Ishāq, from Muslim ibn Nadhīr, from Hudhayfa, concerning the words of Allah Most High, “For those who do good is the finest reward and an increase” [Yūnus: 26]. They both said: “It is looking upon Allah Most High.” ⦗997⦘

Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah’s mercy and good pleasure be upon him—said: As for the transmitted reports, we shall mention separately what each Companion narrated, so that whoever hears them and wishes to memorize them may better retain them, if Allah Most High wills.
