577 — Abū al-Fadl Jafar ibn Muhammad al-Sandalī also narrated to us: al-Fadl ibn Ziyād narrated to us: I heard Abū Abd Allah Ahmad ibn Hanbal, after word had reached him that a man had said, “Allah Most High will not be seen in the Hereafter.” He became extremely angry and then said, “Whoever says that Allah Most High will not be seen in the Hereafter has disbelieved. May Allah’s curse and wrath be upon him, whoever he may be! Did not Allah, Mighty and Majestic, say, “On that Day some faces will be radiant, looking upon their Lord” [Resurrection: 23]? And He Most High said, “No indeed! On that Day they will be veiled from their Lord” [Those Who Give Short Measure: 15]. This proves that the believers will see Allah Most High.”
