562 — Al-Firyābī informed us, saying: Abū Taqī Hishām ibn Abd al-Malik narrated to me, saying: Baqiyya ibn al-Walīd narrated to us, saying: Abū Ghiyāth narrated to me, saying: “While I was washing a Qadarī man, the others dispersed and left me alone. I said, ‘Woe to those who deny the decrees of Allah Most High!’ The body then convulsed so violently that it fell from the washing board. After we had buried him by the Eastern Gate, I saw him in a dream that very night. It was as though I were returning from the mosque when, behold, his bier was in the marketplace, carried feet first by two Abyssinians. I asked, ‘What is this?’ They replied, ‘So-and-so.’ I said, ‘Glory be to Allah! Did we not bury him by the Eastern Gate?’ He replied ⦗964⦘, ‘You buried him somewhere other than his proper place.’ I said, ‘By Allah, I shall follow him and see what is done with him.’ When they took him out through the Jews’ Gate, they turned toward the Christian burial grounds. They came to one of the graves there and buried him in it. His legs then came into view, and I saw that he was blacker than night.”
