Al-Shariah li-al-AjurriAl-Ajurri

523 — Abū Shuayb Abd Allah ibn al-Hasan al-Harrānī narrated to us, saying: Ibrāhīm ibn Abd Allah al-Harawī informed us, saying: Abd Allah ibn Abī al-Walīd narrated to us, saying: Umar ibn Abd al-Azīz—may Allah have mercy on him—came out on Friday and delivered the sermon as he customarily did. Then he said, “O people, whoever among you does good should praise Allah Most High, and whoever does evil should seek Allah’s forgiveness. If he does so again, let him seek Allah’s forgiveness; then, if he does so yet again, let him seek Allah’s forgiveness. For some people will inevitably perform deeds that Allah Most High has laid upon their necks and decreed for them.”
