522 — Al-Firyābī also informed us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shayba narrated to us, saying: ⦗925⦘ Abd Allah ibn Idrīs narrated to us, from Umar ibn Dharr, who said: Umar ibn Abd al-Azīz said, “Had Allah Most High willed not to be disobeyed, He would not have created Iblīs, who is the source of sin. Indeed, there is knowledge of this in the Book of Allah Most High; whoever remained ignorant of it remained so, and whoever knew it knew it.” He then recited: “Indeed, you and whatever you worship cannot tempt anyone away from Him except one who is destined to burn in Hell” [al-Sāffāt: 162].
