516 — Al-Firyābī informed us, saying: Hishām ibn Khālid al-Azraq narrated to us, saying: ⦗922⦘ Abū Mushir said: Awn ibn Hakīm narrated to me, saying: Al-Walīd ibn Sulaymān, the client of Ibn Abī al-Sāib, narrated to me that Rajā ibn Haywa wrote to Hishām ibn Abd al-Malik:
“Commander of the Faithful, I have learned that some concern regarding Ghaylān and Sālih has arisen in your mind. By Allah, killing the two of them is better than killing two thousand Byzantines and Turks.”
Hishām said, “Sālih was a client of Thaqīf.”
