503 — Al-Firyābī informed us, saying: Amr ibn Uthmān al-Himsī narrated to us, saying: Baqiyya ibn al-Walīd narrated to us, from Artāh ibn al-Mundhir, who said: I mentioned to Ibn Awn something of what those who deny divine decree say. He replied: “Do you not read the Book of Allah, exalted is He: ‘Your Lord creates whatever He wills and chooses; the choice is not theirs. Glory be to Allah, and exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him’?” [Al-Qasas: 68]
٥٠٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ قَالَ: نا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْحِمْصِيُّ قَالَ: نا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ أَرْطَاةَ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَ: ذَكَرْتُ لِابْنِ عَوْنٍ شَيْئًا مِنْ قَوْلِ أَهْلِ التَّكْذِيبِ بِالْقَدَرِ فَقَالَ: أَمَا تَقْرَءُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ﴿وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيَخْتَارُ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ﴾ [القصص: ٦٨]
