485 — Al-Firyābī informed us, saying: ʿAbd al-Aʿlā ibn Hammād narrated to us, saying: Muʿtamir ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Abī Humayd, from Muhammad ibn Kaʿb al-Qurazī, who said: I heard him say, “Allah Most High has indeed called those who deny divine decree by a name that He assigned to them in the Quran. He Most High said: ‘Indeed, the wicked are in error and madness. On the Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces, it will be said, “Taste the touch of Saqar! Indeed, We have created everything according to a decree.”’ [al-Qamar: 48]” He said: “Thus, they are the wicked.”
