475 — Abū al-Qāsim Abd Allāh ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Baghawī narrated to us: Ubayd Allāh ibn Umar al-Qawārīrī narrated to us: Jafar ibn Sulaymān narrated to us: Thābit narrated to us, on the authority of Mutarrif, who said: “I reflected and found the son of Adam cast between his Lord—Exalted is He—and Iblīs. If Allah Most High wills to protect him, He protects him; but if He leaves him, Iblīs carries him away.”
٤٧٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْبَغَوِيُّ قَالَ: نا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ قَالَ: نا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ: نا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: نَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ مُلْقًى بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَبِّهِ تَعَالَى وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْ إِبْلِيسَ، فَإِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَنْ يَعْصِمَهُ عَصَمَهُ وَإِنْ تَرَكَهُ ذَهَبَ بِهِ إِبْلِيسُ "
