463 — Al-Firyābī also informed us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abī Bakr al-Muqaddamī narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Zayd narrated to us from Khālid al-Hadhdhāʾ, from al-Hasan, concerning the verse:

“You cannot tempt anyone away from Him except one who is destined to burn in Hell” [al-Sāffāt: 163].

He said: “Through their misguidance, the devils tempt only those for whom Allah has decreed that they shall burn in Hell.”
