462 — Al-Firyābī also informed us, saying: Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Zayd narrated to us from ʿAwf, who said: I heard al-Hasan say: “Whoever disbelieves in the divine decree has disbelieved in Islam.” He then said: “Allah Most High created His creatures according to a decree, apportioned their lifespans according to a decree, and apportioned their provisions according to a decree. Affliction and well-being are likewise according to a decree.”
