By this same chain of transmission, it is narrated from Ibn ʿAbbās that he used to say: “A gateway to associating partners with Allah has been opened among the people of the qibla: the denial of divine decree. So do not debate them, lest their polytheism be propagated at your hands.”

Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ⦗878⦘ said: We have already related from a number of the Companions what we were able to cite of their refutations of the Qadariyya, in a manner consistent with the Book and the Sunnah. What we have related renders further discussion unnecessary. We shall also relate what has reached us from the Followers and the scholars among the leading imams of the Muslims concerning their refutations of the Qadariyya, in accordance with the Book, the Sunnah, and the statements of the Companions—may Allah be pleased with them. When a Qadarī hears this, if he is one for whom good is intended, he will reassess his religious position, repent to Allah Most High, and turn back to Him. But if he is otherwise, may Allah drive him far away and banish him.
