41 — Abū Bakr Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī narrated to us, saying: Hārūn ibn Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Sayyār ibn Hātim narrated to us, saying: Ja‘far ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, saying: Abū Imrān al-Jawnī narrated to us, from Abd Allah ibn Rabāh al-Ansārī, from ⦗338⦘ Ka‘b al-Ahbār, who said:
“A martyr has two lights, while whoever is killed by the Kharijites has ten lights. Hell has seven gates, one of which is for the Harūriyya. Indeed, they rebelled against David, the Prophet of Allah, in his time.”
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn said: This is the description of the Harūriyya. They are the Shurāt—the Kharijites—of whom Allah Most High said:
“They follow what is ambiguous therein, seeking discord and seeking its interpretation; but no one knows its interpretation except Allah.” [Āl Imrān: 7]
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) warned his nation against those who bear these characteristics.
