403 — Al-Firyābī also informed us, saying: Ubayd Allāh ibn Muādh narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: Shuba narrated to us, from Abū Bishr Jafar ibn Abī Wahshiyya, from Saīd ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbās, that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked about the children of the polytheists. He replied, “Allah knew best, when He created them, what they would have done.”
