369 — And Abū ʿAbd Allāh Ahmad ibn al-Husayn ibn ʿAbd al-Jabbār al-Sūfī informed us, saying: Muhriz ibn ʿAwn narrated to us, saying: Hassān ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, from Nasr Abū Juzayy, ⦗789⦘ from Qatāda, from Abū Hassān, from Nājiya ibn Kaʿb, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said:

“Allah—glorious is His Majesty—created John son of Zechariah as a believer in his mother’s womb, and He created Pharaoh as a disbeliever in his mother’s womb.”
