“When Allah creates a human being, the angel charged with the wombs interjects, ‘O Lord, male or female?’ Allah Most High then communicates His decree to him. The angel then says, ‘O Lord, wretched or blessed?’ Allah communicates His decree to him. He then writes between the person’s eyes everything that lies ahead for him, even the affliction that will befall him.”
