344 — And al-Firyābī informed us, saying: Abū Marwān Abd al-Malik ibn Habīb narrated to us, saying: Abū Ishāq al-Fazārī narrated to us, from al-Amash, from Jāmi ibn Shaddād, from Safwān ibn Muhriz, from Imrān ibn Husayn, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and a group from Yemen came to him. They said, “We have come to you, O Messenger of Allah, to gain an understanding of the religion and to ask you how this matter began ⦗765⦘.” He replied, “Allah Most High was, and there was nothing else. His Throne was upon the water. Then He wrote everything in the Record fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth.”
