338 – Al-Firyābī also informed us, saying: Uthmān ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Ismāīl ibn Ayyāsh narrated to us, from Yahyā ibn Abī Amr al-Saybānī, from Abd Allah ibn al-Daylamī, who said: I heard Abd Allah ibn Amr say: I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say, “Allah created His creation in darkness and cast upon them some of His light. Whoever was touched by that light was guided, and whoever it missed went astray.” For this reason, I say: The Pen has dried in accordance with the knowledge of Allah Most High.
