337 – Al-Firyābī also informed us, saying: Abd al-Rahmān ibn Ibrāhīm al-Dimashqī narrated to us, saying: Al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: Al-Awzāī narrated to us, saying: Rabīah ibn Yazīd narrated to me, from Abd Allah ibn al-Daylamī, from Abd Allah ibn Amr ibn al-Ās, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “Allah Most High created His creation in darkness and cast upon them some of His light. Whoever was touched by that light was guided by it, and whoever it missed went astray.” Abd Allah ibn Amr said, “For this reason, I say: The Pen has dried concerning all that is to come to pass.”
