Chapter: Mention of Allah Most High’s statement that He has sent the devils against the disbelievers to lead them astray; yet they lead astray only those whom He knew beforehand would not believe, and they cannot harm anyone except by Allah’s permission. Likewise, sorcerers cannot harm anyone except by Allah’s permission.
Allah Most High says in Sūrat al-Baqara:
“They followed what the devils recited during Solomon’s reign. Solomon did not disbelieve; rather, it was the devils who disbelieved.” [al-Baqara: 102]
—up to His words:
“They learned from the two of them that by which they caused separation between a man and his wife, but they could not harm anyone through it except by Allah’s permission.” [al-Baqara: 102]
The Most High says in Sūrat Maryam:
“Have you not seen that We have sent the devils against the disbelievers, relentlessly inciting them?” [Maryam: 83]
The Most High says in Sūrat al-Sāffāt:
“Indeed, you and whatever you worship cannot tempt anyone away from Him except one who is destined to enter the Blazing Fire.” [al-Sāffāt: 162]
