He said: Abū Abd Allah also narrated to us: Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us, saying: I heard Sufyān mention the Murjiʾa and say, “It is an innovated view. We knew the people to hold otherwise.”
قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ: وَذَكَرَ الْمُرْجِئَةَ فَقَالَ: «رَأَيٌ مُحْدَثٌ، أَدْرَكَنَا النَّاسَ عَلَى غَيْرِهِ»
