Al-Shariah li-al-AjurriAl-Ajurri

288 — Umar ibn Ayyūb al-Saqatī narrated to me: Muhammad ibn Sulaymān Luwayn narrated to us, saying: Sufyān ibn Uyaynah was asked about a man who says, “Are you a believer?” He replied: “Then say: ‘I have no doubt about my faith, and your questioning me is an innovation.’” He also said: “I do not know whether, in the sight of Allah—Mighty and Majestic—I am wretched or blessed, nor whether my deeds are accepted or not.”
