He said: I also heard Abū Abd Allāh say, “When a person says, ‘I am a believer, if Allah wills,’ he is not in doubt.” He was asked, “Is not saying ‘if Allah wills’ an expression of doubt?” He replied, “Allah forbid! Did Allah Most High not say, ‘You will surely enter the Sacred Mosque, if Allah wills’ [al-Fath: 27], although He knew that they would enter it? Likewise, when the occupant of a grave is told, ‘And upon it you will be resurrected, if Allah wills’—what doubt is there in this? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘And we will, if Allah wills, join you.’”
