274 — Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsā al-Jawzī informed us: Zuhayr ibn Muhammad al-Marwazī narrated to us: Ubayd Allah ibn Abd al-Majīd narrated to us: Abū al-Awwām al-Qattān narrated to us: Qatāda and Abān ibn Abī Ayyāsh narrated to us, both from Khulayd ibn Abd Allah al-Asarī, from Abū al-Dardā, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“There are five things which, if a person comes on the Day of Resurrection having fulfilled them together with faith, he will enter Paradise: maintaining the five prayers in their proper manner, with their bowing, prostration, and appointed times; giving zakat from his wealth ⦗651⦘ with a willing heart”—he said, “and he used to say, ‘By Allah, none but a believer does that’”—“fasting Ramadan; performing pilgrimage to the House if able to make the journey to it; and fulfilling the trust.”
They asked, “Abū al-Dardā, what does fulfilling the trust mean?” He replied, “Performing the ritual bath after major ritual impurity, for Allah Most High has entrusted the son of Adam with nothing else of his religion besides it.”
