272 — Abū Abd Allāh al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Ufayr al-Ansārī informed us: Nasr ibn Alī al-Jahdamī narrated to us: Wahb ibn Jarīr narrated to us: Qurra ibn Khālid narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, from Jābir ibn Samura, from al-Miswar ibn Makhrama, who said: I entered upon Umar ibn al-Khattāb—may Allah be pleased with him—when he had been stabbed. They said, “Prayer, O Commander of the Faithful!” He replied, “Prayer—by Allah, indeed! There is no share in Islam for anyone who abandons prayer.”
