271 — Al-Firyābī narrated to us: Abū Ayyūb Sulaymān ibn Abd ⦗648⦘ al-Rahmān al-Dimashqī narrated to us: Ayyūb ibn Suwayd narrated to us: Yūnus ibn Yazīd told me: al-Zuhrī told me: Sulaymān ibn Yasār informed me that al-Miswar ibn Makhrama told him that, when Umar—may Allah be pleased with him—was stabbed, he and Ibn Abbas entered upon him. When morning came, they roused him, saying, “Prayer! Prayer!” He replied, “Yes. There is no share in Islam for anyone who abandons prayer.” He then prayed while blood streamed from his wound.
