241 — ʿUmar ibn Ayyūb also narrated to us, saying: Yaʿqūb al-Dawraqī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Qāsim al-Asadī narrated to us, saying: I heard Sufyān al-Thawrī say, “Indeed, ⦗606⦘ faith increases and decreases.” Sufyān said, “And I say that faith increases and decreases.” Sufyān said, “And I say that faith is what becomes firmly established in the hearts and is confirmed by deeds.”
