22—Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us: ʿAlī ibn Khashram narrated to us: al-Fadl ibn Mūsā reported to us, from Muhammad ibn ʿAmr, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “The Jews split into seventy-one or seventy-two sects; the Christians differed and split into seventy-one or seventy-two sects; and my nation will split into seventy-three sects.”
