2056 — Al-Firyābī also narrated to us, saying: Abu Alī al-Hasan ibn Umar al-Shaqīqī ⦗2549⦘ narrated to me, saying: Hammād ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Amr ibn Mālik, from Abu al-Jawzā, who mentioned the followers of whims and said, “By Him in whose hand is the soul of Abu al-Jawzā, I would rather have my house filled with monkeys and swine than have one of them as my neighbor. They indeed fall under this verse:

‘Here you are: you love them, but they do not love you; and you believe in the entire Scripture. When they meet you, they say, “We believe,” but when they are alone, they bite their fingertips in rage against you. Say, “Die in your rage!” Surely Allah knows all that is within the breasts.’”
