2050 — Al-Firyābī also informed us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shayba narrated to us, saying: ⦗2547⦘ Muāwiya ibn Hishām narrated to us, from Sufyān, from Jafar ibn Burqān, who said: A man came to Umar ibn Abd al-Azīz and asked him about certain heterodox views. He replied, “Consider the religion of the Bedouin and the young boy in the Book; follow it and pay no heed to anything else.”
٢٠٥٠ - وَأَنْبَأَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ⦗٢٥٤٧⦘ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ بَعْضِ الْأَهْوَاءِ , فَقَالَ: انْظُرْ دِينَ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ وَالْغُلَامِ فِي الْكِتَابِ فَاتَّبِعْهُ وَالْهَ عَنْ مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ
