2037 — Abū Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn Sālih al-Harawī, known as Ibn Abī al-Tayyib, recited to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Zakariyyā recited to me, saying: Mahdī ibn Sābiq recited to me:
[Basīt meter]
I have accepted Alī as an exemplar and a beacon,
Just as I accepted Atīq, the Companion of the Cave.
I have accepted Abū Hafs and his adherents,
But never the elder’s murder in his home.
To me, all the Companions are exemplars of knowledge—
Does such a profession bring me any shame?
If You know that I love them only for Your sake,
Then set me free from the Fire.
٢٠٣٧ - أَنْشَدَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ , الْمَعْرُوفُ بِابْنِ أَبِي الطِّيبِ , قَالَ: أَنْشَدَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا قَالَ: أَنْشَدَنِي مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ سَابِقٍ:
[البحر البسيط]
إِنِّي رَضِيتُ عَلِيًّا قُدْوَةً عَلَمًا ... كَمَا رَضِيتُ عَتِيقًا صَاحِبَ الْغَارِ
وَقَدْ رَضِيتُ أَبَا حَفْصٍ وَشِيعَتَهُ ... وَمَا رَضِيتُ بِقَتْلِ الشَّيْخِ فِي الدَّارِ
كُلُّ الصَّحَابَةِ عِنْدِي قُدْوَةُ عِلْمٍ ... فَهَلْ عَلَيَّ بِهَذَا الْقَوْلِ مِنْ عَارِ
إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنِّي أُحِبُّهُمْ ... إِلَّا لِوَجْهِكَ أَعْتِقْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ
