Abū Bakr Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī narrated to us. He said: al-Hasan ibn Arafa narrated to us. He said: Abū Hafs al-Abbār narrated to us, from al-Hakam ibn Abd al-Malik, from al-Hārith ibn Hasīra, from Abū Sādiq, from Rabīʿa ibn Nājid, ⦗2532⦘ from Ali ibn Abī Tālib—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah said to me, “O Ali, there is in you a likeness to Jesus, son of Mary—peace be upon him. The Jews hated him so much that they slandered his mother, while the Christians loved him so much that they elevated him to a station that was not his.”
