And Abū Sa‘īd narrated to us, saying: Abū Usāma al-Kalbī narrated to us, saying: Hasan ibn al-Rabī‘ narrated to us, saying: Ibn Idrīs narrated to us, from Husayn, from Yūsuf ibn Ya‘qūb, from al-Salt ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Hārith ibn Abd Allah ibn Nawfal ibn Abd al-Muttalib, from his father, who said:

I was with Alī (may Allah be pleased with him) when he had finished dealing with the forces at the Battle of the Camel. He set off for his home, holding my hand. There we found his wife and two daughters weeping and speaking of Uthmān, Talha, and al-Zubayr. A slave girl had been stationed at the door to alert them when Alī arrived, but she became distracted by what she saw the women doing. Alī (may Allah be pleased with him) therefore entered upon them, while I remained behind and stood at the door.
