Abū Sa‘īd narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Affān al-Āmirī narrated to us, saying: Sahl ibn Āmir narrated to us, from Fudayl ibn Marzūq, from Atiyya al-Awfī, who said: Alī (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the son of Talha (may Allah be pleased with him), “I truly hope that your father and I will be among those of whom Allah, Glorified and Exalted, said: ‘We will remove whatever rancor remains in their hearts. They will be as brothers, seated on thrones, facing one another.’ [al-Hijr: 47]

You kill them and they kill you, yet you and they will be brothers seated on thrones, facing one another?” He said: Alī (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, “May dust fill your mouth! Who else could they possibly be?”
