Abū al-Fadl Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sandalī narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn Zanjawayh narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yūsuf al-Firyābī narrated to us, saying: Sufyān al-Thawrī narrated to us, from Mansūr, from Ibrāhīm, who said: Bishr ibn Jurmuz came to Alī (may Allah be pleased with him), but Alī rebuffed him. Bishr was the man who had killed al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwām. He said, “Is this how men of valor are treated?” Alī (may Allah ennoble his face) replied, “May your mouth be filled with stones! Indeed, I hope that Talha, al-Zubayr, and I will be among those of whom Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: “We shall remove all rancor from their hearts; they will be like brothers, seated on couches, facing one another.” [al-Hijr: 47]
