Ibn Abd al-Hamīd also narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Rizq Allah ⦗2524⦘ al-Kalwadhānī narrated to us, saying: Husayn ibn Alī al-Jufī narrated to us, from Zāida, from Abd al-Rahmān ibn al-Asbahānī, from Abd Allah ibn Shaddād ibn al-Hād, who said: I came to Ibn Abbās, and he said to me, “Shall I tell you something astonishing?” I asked, “What is it?” He said, “I was at home and had lain down for my midday nap when the servant came to me and said, ‘There is a man at the door asking permission to enter.’ I said, ‘He would not have come at this hour unless he needed something. Let him in.’ He entered, and I asked, ‘What do you need?’ He replied, ‘When will that man be resurrected?’ I asked, ‘Which man?’ He said, ‘Alī ibn Abī Tālib.’ I replied, ‘He will not be resurrected until those in the graves are resurrected.’ He said, ‘I see that you speak just as these fools do!’ I then said, ‘Get this man away from me. Neither he nor anyone of his kind is to be admitted to me.’”
