Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us, saying: Abd Allah ibn Sa‘īd Abū Sa‘īd al-Ashajj narrated to us, saying: Talīd ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, from Abū al-Jahhāf, from Muhammad ibn Amr al-Hāshimī, from Zaynab daughter of Alī, from Fatima—may Allah be pleased with her—the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who said:

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, looked at Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—and said, “This man is in Paradise. Yet among his adherents will be people who take Islam in and then spit it out. They will bear a sobriquet: they will be called al-Rāfida (the Rejectors). Whoever encounters them should fight them, for they are polytheists.”
