Abū Abd Allāh Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Shāhīn also narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Ishāq narrated to us, saying: al-Fadl ibn Ghānim narrated to us, saying: Sawwār ibn Musab narrated to us, from Atiyya, from Abū Saīd, from Umm Salama—may Allah be pleased with her—who said:
It was my allotted night with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he was with me. Fatima came to him, followed by Ali—may Allah be pleased with them both. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, “O Ali, you and your companions are in Paradise, and your adherents are in Paradise. However, among those who claim to love you are people who belittle Islam and then cast it off. They recite the Quran, but it does not pass beyond their collarbones. They are called al-Rāfida (the Rejectors). If you encounter them, fight them, for they are ⦗2515⦘ polytheists.”
He asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what is their distinguishing sign?” He replied, “They attend neither the Friday prayer nor congregational prayer, and they malign the earliest predecessors.”
