1999 — And Ibn ʿAbd al-Hamīd al-Wāsitī narrated to us, saying: Abū Saʿīd ⦗2505⦘ ʿAbd Allah ibn Shabīb al-Madīnī narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Jabbār ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Abī al-Zinād narrated to me, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwa, from his father, who said: I said to ʿĀʾisha—may Allah have mercy upon her—“I hear some people disparaging the Companions of Muhammad—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.” She replied: “My dear son, the Companions of Muhammad—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—were with the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—and Allah, Majestic and Exalted, caused their rewards to continue accruing. Then, when Allah, Majestic and Exalted, took them in death, He wished that reward to continue accruing for them.”
